The propeller shaft of ships is supported by two different bearing types. The main bearing leads the propeller shaft in radial direction. For this purpose, almost exclusively spherical roller bearings are used. To take axial forces which act on he propeller shaft, a thrust bearing is also installed. This axial bearing absorbs shocks and vibrations from axial direction.
 

Die Propellerwelle von Schiffen wird von zwei verschiedenen Lagertypen gestützt. Das Hauptlager führt die Propellerwelle radial. Hierfür werden fast ausschließlich Pendelrollenlager verwendet. Um axiale Kräfte aufzunehmen, welche auf die Propellerwelle wirken, werden außerdem Axial-Lager eingebaut. Dieses absorbiert Stöße und Schwingungen aus axialer Richtung.
